Nurturing confidence, connection, and early independence

Practical Life

A Caring Community

Foundations for Future Learning

Our Nido is a calm, connected space where our youngest children begin to build independence, confidence, and a sense of belonging.    Beginning with a gentle transition, we move at the child’s pace, allowing each child the time and space they need to settle, explore, and build trust. Through consistent routines and a carefully prepared environment, children begin to feel secure, capable, and at ease in their surroundings.

Respectful Relationships

Independence is supported through simple, meaningful experiences. Children are encouraged to care for themselves, their environment, and one another through everyday tasks such as washing hands, preparing food, and packing away. These daily experiences build confidence, coordination, and a growing sense of capability.

Respect sits at the heart of our Nido. Educators take the time to know each child, guiding them with care and consistency. Through these interactions, children begin to develop trust, communication, and an understanding of others. Through these relationships, children build confidence in themselves and learn to engage with others in a calm and respectful way.

The Nido is a small, connected community where children learn alongside one another. Through shared routines and daily interactions, we help to develop patience, awareness of others, and a sense of belonging.  Children follow a familiar daily rhythm which nurtures connection, cooperation, and a growing awareness of the community around them.

Practical life forms the foundation for all future learning. Through repetition, movement, and hands-on experience, children build the concentration and independence that will support their transition into the Casa. When the time comes, children move forward with confidence, ready to engage more deeply with language, mathematics, and the wider Montessori curriculum.
