Confidently growing into the next stage

In their final year in the Children’s House, the Casa Kindergarten children move forward with confidence, independence, and a strong sense of themselves as capable learners. Within the 3–6 environment, they step into leadership, guiding and supporting younger peers while contributing to group work and community life. Their confidence in expressing themselves grows, along with a developing awareness of others and a genuine care for those around them.

The kindergarten program sits naturally within our Montessori approach, with children continuing to build independence, concentration, and social awareness through purposeful work and daily rhythms.  By this stage, many foundational skills for school, including care of self, care of belongings, and independence, are already established. This allows us to focus more deeply on social and emotional readiness, and the development of each child’s character and identity. Children learn to advocate for themselves and carry their natural leadership into the wider school environment. These experiences support a smooth and confident transition into school.

We work closely with families to consider the best pathway for each child and, where appropriate, liaise with local schools to support a steady and confident transition into the next stage.

We offer the Queensland Government Free Kindy program, with 15 hours per week provided at no cost to families. The program is delivered by a qualified Early Childhood Teacher ensuring a strong and thoughtful foundation in the final year before school.

Further information about the Free Kindy program can be found on the Queensland Government website.
